STEPH'S GUIDE TO 'WHERE TO SIT ON THE TRAIN'
Hello fellow readers! Do i have anything to blog about? I sure do! I went on holidays to Cairns ( which was FANTASTIC!) and then we had Easter holidays (which was also pretty SPLENDID!) and I just went to the Easter show which was also TERRIFICA!I had lots of fun lol but i guess i've done my fair share of work for it :) ( study and work ) but I wont' keep you readers waiting because I'm sure you're all VERY curious as to my guide on WHERE TO SIT ON THE TRAIN

Now, this matter requires A LOT OF THOUGHT. Lately, my time on the train has not been well spent, instead i've been creating a guide on where to sit on the train at what times. This entire guide is based on the assumption that the IDEAL place is NOT to be next to anyone. the LEAST ideal place would be squeezed in between two people on a seat/ standing. Okay, here goes ( I hope you guys don't just think i'm stupid and this is all common sense, I PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO THIS!)

1. WHEN THERE IS NO ONE ON THE TRAIN OR VERY VERY LITTLE PEOPLE, CHOOSE ANY SEAT YOU LIKE. IT DOENS'T MATTER WHERE YOU SIT, NO ONE SHOULD TAKE THE SEAT NEXT TO YOURS UNLESS THEY'RE REALLY CREEPY OR YOU'RE REALLY HOT (and the other person is creepy).

2. If there are starting to be a few people such that there are no longer enough seats for every person then choose a three-seater. people will then sit on the outside of your three seater and no one will choose the middle seat hence you still aren't technically 'sitting next to anyone' directly. If you choose a two-seater, you are risking yourself to have some unwanted company to plonk themselves down next to you and start listening to REALLY LOUD BOLLYWOOD.

3. When there are quite a few people because you're on an early station but you know the train will fill up and the seats are starting to fill up choose a two-seater. You know that the train is going to fill up so therefore people will start sitting on the outer seat of the three-seater and the aisle seat of the two seater. Why you choose the two seater is because that even if it fills up, you are only next to one person rather than two. If you chose the three seater, someone sits on the outer seat, and then MORE people get on and someone sits in the middle, you technicaly are still sitting next to one person but you have two people to get past. If you chose a middle seat in the first place of a three seater, you may end up sitting next to two people. I guess then the aisle seat of a three seater would be a pretty good option but then you may be perceived as a bitch. Whethe ryou choose the window seat or the aisle seat is up to you but if you choose the aisle seat, there is a bigger probability that no one will sit next to you because you are actually very evil and they are afraid that if they ask you to, you will be rude and tell them to squeeze past your thighs to the window seat. ( but i generally have good manners so i always end up scooting to the window seat in such a case or sitting in the window seat in the first place.)

4. When there are EVEN MORE PEOPLE and you don't even get a choice of seat anymore. you are strategically placing yourself next to pleasant seaters. If by the time you get on the train and there aren't THAAAAT many seats left, and you know that it WILL BE PACKED cos it's an express at 8 o clock in the morning then whatever you do, DO NOT SIT ON THE OUTER SEAT OF A THREE SEATER ( if the middle seat is empty and the window seat is occupied) BECAUSE SOMEONE FROM THE NEXT STOP WILL DEFINITELY TRY AND MOVE IN AWKWARDLY, OR YOU WILL BE FORCED TO SCOOT OVER AND THEN OCCUPY THE LEAST WANTED SEAT (BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE). ONE TIME, I MADE THIS MISTAKE AND GOT SEATED BETWEEN TWO REALLY REALLY FAT WOMEN AND THEN, LIKE OUR SHOULDERS DIDN'T TOUCH BUT OUR BUTTS DID AND I HATED IT D: < Also, it's a bitch to get out of when it's your stop. Thankfully, on the way back, i get off at sevo which is quite a later stop which means that people always try to squeeze past me and it's bad when you're in the middle cos you dont' know whether to get out and get back in or just try and paste yourself to the seat.

5. When it's FULLY PACKED. You don't have choice at all. Do you prefer to sit or stand? If you choose stand then please, be my guest. However, as i like to 'conserve my energy for the day', i do not like standing all the time thus i ALWAYS move to the bottom level of the carriage ( because it usually has the free seats ) and either a) take any seat ( EVEN if it's between two people ERK) or b) if there are no seats, stand in the middle of the aisle holding on to the seats. This increases your chances of seating because by the time the train reaches parra or strat, a lot of people get out and as you are the first to spot their free seat and are free to take it ( if you please).

I guess i've covered most scenarios but here, some more tips.

If you're self-conscious like me, TRY not to occupy a seat in the common area in front of the doors because, if an old woman or man saunters on with a stick, you will feel a guilty conscience wash over you and you will be forced to give up your seat for them otherwise, you have really bad manners. So therefore, try to find a seat in the upper or bottom levels because old people don't really go there to stand and stare at you.
HOWEVER, an exception to such a rule is that if you know you have to get off a REALLY PACKED TRAIN at a station before everyone usually gets off (like redfern in the morning) then sitting/standing in common area means that you can get out quick without the push and shove and the awkward butt bumping (ewwwww...)

Another good place to stand on a very very crowded train is the stairs because if gicves you a butt rest, and you get a good view of free seats.

DID I MISS ANYTHING GUYS? OH YEAH, TRY AND PICK NICE PEOPLE TO SIT NEXT TO. SO THIS CONCLUDES STEPH'S GUIDE TO WHERE TO SIT ON THE TRAIN. HOPE YOU FIND IT HELPFUL LOL (Y)
